A home inspection revealed that the tiling in this bathtub is caved, loose and dilapidated, but the wall board beneath is softened and dilapidated. The
bathtub walls must be gutted out and it is likely that there is damage to the wall studs and possibly the supporting floor joists beneath. In addition, the bathtub surface is severely worn. In order to repair
this condition, the wall tiling, wall board and bathtub must be gutted out and the structure must be repaired as needed prior to commencing with the renovation. A mold expert is also recommended to assess mold
issues.
